Now reading the title of this article you might think that we meant Mallika is changing her look to be ugly in Ugly Aur Pagli. However, since that would be quite impossible, we meant for her character Pagli. The film also stars Ranvir Shorey opposite Mallika and is directed by first timer Sachin Khot.

Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications the film is a romantic comedy. Though not giving any details away, Shorey said, “Doesn’t the title give you an idea about the film? It’s a light romantic comedy and the film certainly has novelty attached to it.”

To prepare for her role in the film, Mallika went to an acting workshop to hone her skills. According to a source, “Mallika is paired opposite Ranvir Shorey in the film who is considered to be a phenomenal actor. So to match her act with Ranvir, Mallika is currently doing an acting workshop. Even otherwise Mallika is taking the art of acting very seriously and wants to work hard to be the best in the business”.

Shorey said that he was flattered that she felt he was such a great actor. Adding, “Workshops are a very healthy trend. It gives you an opportunity to practice and rehearse your scenes and also get into the skin of the character that you are playing. I myself am a glutton as far as rehearsals are concerned. I love to rehearse my scenes over and over again.”

Mallika is also working closely with Rangita Nandy to get her look just right as Pagli. Since, as you can tell by her name, Pagli is a very crazy and offbeat character, Mallika’s look had to be totally different. Nandy spent about 2 weeks working on getting the look for Pagli perfect for the film. She even had hairstylist Sapna Bhavnani create a special hair-do to complete the picture. Mallika is supposedly thrilled with the look of her new avatar!

We cannot wait to see the pictures of this new Mallika and to hear more about this intriguingly titled film!! Stay tuned to this page for more!
