L’Officiel a top (many would say the top) fashion magazine is going Bollywood for its next edition. The magazine’s September 20th had several layouts featuring top Bollywood stars as well as concept themes based on popular movies. This is the first time the magazine has pointed the camera towards Bollywood. With the guest editor being none other than Karan Johar, the features being handled by Manish Malhotra and behind the camera is Atul Kasbekar, it is sure to be a spectacular edition.

One of the themes is the classic movie Devdas. However you will not see SRK in this layout- his is another fabulous one. In this you will see the incredibly handsome Kunal Kapoor as Devdas, with Amisha Patel as Paro wearing a white sari with a red border and posing, as Chandramukhi is Urmilla Matondkar, dressed in a gorgeous green embroidered outfit. Kunal said, “I had suggested them to turn Devdaas into a Punjabi and make him wear a turban. But my suggestion was turned down.”

Speaking of SRK, his layout is the cover of the mag with him dressed in a black suit on one side of photo and then with a white shirt on the other side. Why specifically black and white? The whole concept is reincarnation with the black to white representing darkness into light. Reincarnation is part of the story of SRK’s new film Om Shanti Om and this was an a very artful (and may we say hot!) way to represent it.

Another one of the dramatic layouts features one of Karan Johar’s most popular films Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, but with a different cast. Dino Morea is Rahul, Amrita Arora is Tina and Shamita Shetty is Anjali for the spectacular photos.

The magazine also has dazzling pictures of Tanessah, Kareena and Bipahsa decked out in dresses by well-known designers Valentino, Christian Dior, Tarun Tahiliani, and JJ Valaya. There is also the stunning layout with Priyanka Chopra on the red carpet wearing a fabulous design.

It seems that oxygen or maybe a bottle of water will be needed as you feast your eyes on this edition of L’Officiel. We know we can’t to get our hands on a copy!
