The list is endless. Bollywood and Hollywood, the two most powerful film industries in the world, have apparently decided to join hands rather than become mortal enemies.
With Aishwarya doing Pink Panther 2, Preity Zinta in Heaven on Earth, John Abraham in Luna, Tabu and Irrfan impressing in The Namesake and Amitabh set to film for Shantaram with Johnny Depp and Hrithik Roshan looking for the perfect film in which to make his Hollywood debut, it’s almost certain that Bipasha Basu would soon be added to the list. I mean come on, even Celina Jaitley has a film in Hollywood coming up!
Her manager, Simone Sheffield (also manages Aishwarya Rai, Rekha and Isha Kopikkar) tells Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, Bipasha Basu is doing not one but two good films offered by prominent Hollywood Studios. Besides the two ventures, she also has an offer on the table that she practically zeroed in on but the only thing that’s pending is the casting of the male lead of the film. The specifics will be announced only once the contracts are signed and not before!” Sheffield adamantly refused to divulge any more details.
Those who are upset over our stars experimenting in Hollywood should not see this as an attempt to ditch our cinema but rather as an opportunity to explore new horizons and give presence to the Indian nationality not only in Hollywood but around the world.
If anyone, the sultry Basu has quite a good chance of making an impression.
