As we have reported earlier, some of the scripts from the Indian film industry have been given the honor of being a permanent part of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences Film Library. We can now add another brilliant film to that list. The library has requested a copy of the screenplay for Chak De India. The screenplays that are placed in this prestigious library are available for research purposes for students, filmmakers, writers and actors from all over the world.

In a statement announcing this, Yash Raj Films said, “The invitation is recognition that the screenplay of Chak De India is comparable with the best in the world; and will become an invaluable asset for future generations of filmmakers. As the movie goes from strength to strength at the box office, it is a tribute to the entire team that helped make Chak De India such a universal success, critically and commercially.”
