Lokhandwala is now going to be home to Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies VFX studio. It is well known that SRK has been working to establish a first rate special effects company and this expansion will help that goal on its way.

The new offices will house the entire VFX team, which right now includes 40 employees, headed by Arjun Mitra, Ketan Yadav and Harry Hingorani. It will have beautiful work spaces and top of the line machines and computers used in creating superb special effects.

The company previously did work for the movies Main Hoon Na, Paheli and Don and is now working on Farah Khan’s Om Shanti Om. They are also creating special effects for commercials. According to Mitra, “We have the technology for providing the best visual graphics. Television commercials are keeping us busy these days.”

The VFX Company would like to expand into working for other film industries as well. Mitra said that, “We have got a bunch of expert visualisers and operators. The company intends to take up work for outside producers too, including Hollywood production companies. The special effects that we had seen in Krrish can be done in our studio too.”

With the expansion into new areas the studio is planning on hiring many more people. In fact, this year alone they are looking to add at least 100 people to their staff and over the course of the next 3 years, they plan to have 300 or more people working on all the companies’ various projects.

“We are getting closer to Shah Rukh’s vision of having a first-class graphic designing studio. We will move into our new office within a month. It’s a huge space, that can support at least 300 professionals,” said Mitra.

We wish the company much luck and cannot wait to see what special effects treats they have in store for us!
