There have been reports of an ongoing legal battle involving the film Cash, starring Ajay Devgan, Suneil Shetty, Esha Deol, Dia Mirza, Zayed Khan, Shamita Shetty and Riteish Deshmukh. It is between the director Anubhav Sinha, producer Sohail Maklai, presenter of Adlabs, and a few other investors. Since it is within the legal system, the whole story is not known but there has been a big fall out between the director Sinha and producer, Malkai. In fact, things have gotten so bad that Malkai’s name has been removed from the credits and publicity, The cast has even chosen sides with some supporting Makali and some supporting Sinha.

Ajay has taken the side of Malkai and this has caused a problem between the actor and director. Recently, when called for the shooting of a very important song, Ajay refused, so the sequence for the film was shot with the rest of the cast. It is being reported that a body double was used in his place.

Devgan’s spokesperson said, “Ajay has heard about a body double being used for him, but he only stuck to his decision of not shooting since he was waiting for the matter (between the producer and director) to be resolved by arbitrators. We will be able to comment on the matter after the arbitration order, as the matter is presently sub-judice.”

Anubhav Sinha says, “I would not like to comment about Sohail at all but as far as Ajay goes, I have no problems whatsoever with him. Ajay has shot the film and he was great in the film. This song has been picturised on Zayed Khan, Ritesh Deshmukh, Esha Deol and Shamita Shetty. Ajay was not required for it at all.”

Adding that, “There is a body double, but only for action sequences. Using body doubles for stunt sequences for actors is a common practice.”

For using a body double for the song Devgan has now lodged a complaint to the Cine Artist Association against the director.

Cash is a comedy as well as an action packed heist thriller with never before seen stunt sequences including sky diving, kite surfing, and skate boarding. This highly anticipated film is set to release July 13th.

It will be very interesting to see how all this comes out and to try and spot the body double (if he is there) in the song.
