Sony Entertainment will show Bollywood Film Awards

Sony Entertainment has obtained the exclusive rights to air the Bollywood Film Awards on May 26th from New York.

As was previously reported here at Bollyspice many celebrities from Bollywood and Hollywood will be attending, such as Vivek Oberoi, Bipasha Basu Arjun Rampal, Urmila Matondkar, Soha Ali Khan, Neha Dhupia, Kangana Ranaut, UK’s Raghav, Pakistan’s top actress and singer Shahida Mini, Caribbean Singer Ricki Ramdehal and Pakistan’s popular singer Waris Beg are scheduled to perform. Besides presenting the trophies for acting and directing categories among others, the awards ceremony will also honor actor Danny Glover and director Mira Nair with special awards.

Kamal Dodona, CEO of Bollywood Group said that he expects the awards program to be seen by around one billion people. Besides India and Pakistan, the awards function will be telecast amazingly in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Panama, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Caribbean, Trinidad, Guyana, Suriname, Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, St Thomas, St Martin, Aruba, UK, Europe, South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, Fiji, Mauritius, Maldives, Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Japan, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Bahrain, Australia and New Zealand.

This year the event will be hosted by Mona Singh, who rose to fame for her role in “Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin”, the South Asian version of popular American comedy “Ugly Betty”.
