The first Sunday of February this year, saw an extraordinary evening at the music launch of the much awaited film Queen. It was officially a part of the prestigious Kala Ghoda Arts Festival’s schedule. The energy at Cross Maidan was electrifying, with a multitude of art and music lovers having gathered to experience the magic of Amit Trivedi and Queen’s popular songs, ‘Badra Bahaar’, ‘London Thumakda’ and ‘Gujariya’, first hand.
The evening witnessed the talented musician Amit Trivedi, performing live, with everyone cheering and grooving to the beats of the music. The crowd, which looked fanatically mesmerized, was immersed in the moment, as Amit belted out captivating songs from the film. The cast and crew, who were present at the launch, were seen having a good time. Kangana Ranaut, Lisa Haydon, Rajkummar Rao and Vikas Bahl were seen shaking a leg to Amit’s lively music, leaving the crowd exhilarated. Reputed choreographer Bosco flaunted his dance moves to ‘London Thumakda’, with the cast.
“I love the music of ‘Queen’, and the music has made the film, and the journey. Amit has done a great job and Anvita is outstanding. We had a great time making the music for this film, but the sad part is we went to Goa for 15 days and finished the music in 7 days. So we came back 8 days earlier. This time around, when we make music together, I will make sure that we stay there for a month, at least”, commented Director Vikas Bahl, on all that went into the making of ‘Queen’s music.
Elated with the audience’s response, an overwhelmed Amit Trivedi said, “Today we had a lot of fun at the music launch of ‘Queen’. Vikas has made a wonderful film. He and Anvita are the reason for the music to have turned out so well.”
Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures, said, ”The music of ‘Queen’ represents the film perfectly, it is rooted yet contemporary. It will get you to hit the dance floor with songs like London Thumakda or Hungama Ho Gaya and yet, it also has Badra Bahaar, which is Amit Trivedi at his usual best. We are going to see chartbusters here.”
The launch was an absolute hit, with the resounding encore of ‘Once more’, and the crowd wishing that the night didn’t end.
