14may_PricelessRemake-AnushkaSidharthAnushka Sharma and Sidharth Malhotra will be the lead couple in Tarun Mansukhani’s next film. The director of Dostana is in charge of the Indian remake of French film Priceless (2006). According to the Hindustan Times, both actors have agreed to do the film, although the contract signing has not been done yet.

They are not the only ones involved in the project. The newspaper also reports that Karan Johar has come on board as a co-producer together with Siddharth Roy Kapur, managing director of the Walt Disney Company India.

The film (titled Hors de Prix in French), directed by Pierre Salvadori and starring Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh in the lead roles, tells the story of a young gold digger who mistakenly woos a mild-mannered bartender thinking he’s a wealthy suitor.

Reports also claim that Alia Bhatt was initially considered for the film, but as the actress and Sidharth already worked together in Student of the Year, makers decided to go for a new pairing and approached Anushka. “They want to go ahead with Sidharth and Anushka now as they feel their pairing will give the film a fresh and young vibe”.

The actor of Hasee Toh Phasee is busy with his upcoming film Ek Villain alongside Shraddha Kapoor. The film is scheduled to release on June 27, and the official teaser was released earlier this month.

Anushka is also working on Bombay Velvet and PK, two of the most awaited films of 2014. Despite her busy schedule, the actress of Band Baaja Baaraat found some time to lend her support to Peta India and claim for the banning of the use of horse-drawn carriages in Mumbai. She recently took Twitter to show her concern and her support for the cause. “Friends, please join Peta India and me in asking for a complete ban on horse carriages in Mumbai. Take action here: http://bit.ly/1ft3UqE”, tweeted Anushka. “It is extremely saddening to witness the cruelty towards these horses used as carriages in tourist spots in Mumbai. Please show your support,” she added.

Anushka is not the only actress that supports Peta. Other celebrities, such as Arjun Rampal, Hema Malini, John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandez and Zeenat Aman have also asked for a ban on horse-drawn carriages.
