Also, it was predicted that the film’s collections during the first three days would be around 40 crore. This is exactly what happened as this A.R. Murugadoss directed film saw good traction coming its way from the audience. The film had a gradual growth on a day by day basis, which was pretty much expected out of this genre.

As a result, eventually 41 crore came in for this Vipul Shah production and now all eyes are how the weekdays perform. Unlike quick-fire entertainers that bring in majority of moolah in their first few days itself and then taper down, ‘Holiday’ comes with good strength of finding consistent audience on weekdays as well. Moreover, with no competition whatsoever in its week of release and ‘Fugly’ being the only new release next, ‘Holiday’ has the stage set for some good numbers to be explored.

For Akshay Kumar, the film has worked in a good way since he has gained a lot of appreciation, accolades and acknowledgment from it. It is a redefined Akshay for many out there who were longing to see him in a different avtar altogether. That has show in heaps of praises that have come Akshay’s way, something that would reflect in the box office run of the film too, which would easily be biggest for him since ‘Rowdy Rathore’. Incidentally, Sonakshi Sinha had featured in there as well and now with ‘Holiday’, she would be earning another success under her name.

In the middle of this all, ‘Filmistaan’ released as well which saw good to excellent reviews coming its way. Commercially though, it was overpowered by ‘Holiday’, though still it was trying to make its presence felt amidst the audience. Again, there was growth over the weekend, though numbers stayed low at a little over 2.5 crore. Chances are good though that it would hang on well in its weeklong stay though. Meanwhile, Sharib Hashmi is a talent to watch out for as he would be much spoken about with ‘Filmistaan’ finding him some good recognition.
