14jun_bangbangEditing movies simultaneously while shooting is a fairly popular concept in the West and now it seems like Bollywood is adopting it.

Fox Star Studios’ Bang Bang had to face a few delays after the lead actor Hrithik Roshan met with a freak accident and had to undergo an emergency brain surgery.

Now, in order to keep up with its release date of October 2nd, the makers of the movie have used a live editing technology. After each
scene was filmed, it is given to the editing team to be edited and put together. This has in turn has given them more time to work on the special effects.

As a result of this, the first half of the movie is entirely ready.

“When we came back from our first schedule in Thailand, we already had the scenes in order. So before we moved on to our next schedule, our scenes were edited and ready with colour correction which saved a lot of time,” a unit member said.

Also, director Siddharth Anand has shot multiple sequences of action scenes, which need a lot of VFX work. The faster the footage was edited, the more time the team had to work on VFX.

Bang Bang is all set to release on October 2nd and will be both Hrithik and Katrina’s first release of 2014.
