One of the films that is on everyone’s list to be sure to check out is Dum Maaro Dum. Directed by Rohan Sippy, the suspense thriller with an edge and a deeper emotional layer is set to hit theaters on April 22nd. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Rana Daggubati, Aditya Pancholi, with a special appearance by Prateik, and with Govind Namdev. About the story screenwriter Shridhar Raghavan says, “Dum Maaro Dum is a story of four characters whose lives are intertwined with the drug trade in the backdrop. Goa is not the story, it’s the setting. Our lyricist Jaideep superbly paraphrased the whole story in one line — ‘Kya hai kahaani tere paap ki? What’s the story behind your sins?'”
Synopsis:Dum Maaro Dum races through the bylanes and shacks of Goa, India’s famous beach paradise, to bring you the stories of four characters whose lives brutally collide: ACP Kamath (Abhishek Bachchan), a tough-as-nails cop with a past to redeem who is hell bent on bringing down a mysterious drug kingpin in Goa; Lorry (Prateik), a young innocent student who finds that shortcuts in life often come with a heavy price; DJ Joki (Rana Daggubati), a local musician who once stood by silently while he lost everything dear to him but is now determined to make sure history does not repeat itself; and Zoe (Bipasha Basu), a free spirited girl whose innocence and beauty were marred when she let her ambition take her down the wrong lane. As their stories dramatically twist and turn, they discover that even paradise has a few snakes.
