From a one night celebration in 2000 at the Millennium Dome, London, the last ten years have seen the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) movement grow into a cine-packed weekend of film-festivals, workshops, exhibitions, film-showcases, global business forums and sporting events, all of which climax into the highlight of the Weekend, the IIFA Awards. This year this prestigious event is being held in Toronto, Canada over three days from the 23rd to the 25th of June 2011. About the event Wiz Sabbas Joseph, Director, Wizcraft International Entertainment said, “IIFA is pleased to celebrate its 12th year in Toronto and feels it is Indian Cinema’s gateway to North America. This year’s celebrations will have over 800 delegates from India, including the creme de la creme of Indian cinema and the international media. A third of the expatriate population in Toronto comprises South Asians and we intend to bring a taste of home and cinematic magic to them.”
IIFA recently held a press event to announce the nominations for the IIFA Awards with Arbaz Khan, Sonu Sood, Hrithik Roshan, Dia Mirza, Boman Irani and Karan Johar.
