Kuunal, who had met Ameesha through his textile business since over a decade, admitted that she was initially hesitant about delving into film production. “I’ve known Ameesha for ten years and since three years been pushing her towards production.. Finally she agreed. I always felt she deserves much more,” revealed Goomer ensuring that APP’s aim is to deliver quality films with good content. “APP will make Ameesha do roles that need talent, which she has immense and not just stand in a bikini or skimpy clothes singing songs,” he added.

Apart from the production front, Patel has managed to bag some interesting offers lately. She landed a role in the much awaited multi-starrer Race 2, which is being filmed as we speak. The film is a sequel to Abbas-Mustan’s 2008 hit film Race, which was heavily borrowed from Hollywood flick Goodbye Lover. Ameesha has also completed the first schedule of Neil Nitin Mukesh starrer, Shortcut Romeo, which sees her in a negative role for the first time, and is set to begin filming for Sunny Deol’s Bhaiyyaji Superhit within this week. Patel is very happy that everything is going according to plan, “I have had such a beautiful year. Everything I had planned has worked out. My plate is full with films. And I’m very excited about it,” she says.

With such a fantastic line up, we certainly hope that Ameesha makes a Gadar comeback to the Bollywood silver screen so that the audiences can say Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai to her once more!

Bollywood heroines are known to be competitive with one and another and as soon as they share the screen space together, a rumor of a fall out pops out. Bhatt, who will also be acting in the film (besides directing and producing it), confirms that Karisma will portray five different roles that represent different eras, one that happens to be of a martial artiste which will require her to train vigorously for several action sequences. The story will kick start from the year 1498, seeing her play Mirabhai at first and then travelling through different centuries till date, including the partition era as well as ex-prime minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination. Bhatt strongly feels that this comeback won’t be a cakewalk for the actress as it will require her to research extensively, “I feel this film is going to be the biggest challenge of her career. Dangerous Ishq will take her to a whole new level as an actor.” It is yet to be known who else will co-star opposite Lolo but one thing for sure is
that the focus will be completely on her throughout the film! Dangerous Ishq is written by Amin Hajee (of Haunted fame) and is going on the floors next September.

Even though Priyanka Chopra’s attempt in twelve roles or being paired opposite seven different men proved to be a blunder at the box office, we hope that the combination of both proves lucky for Lolo! However, the director of the original film, Ram Gopal Varma, is leaving no stone unturned and is making a sequel of his own titled Bhhooo. The 49 year old filmmaker has not taken the news about the sequel being made without him too well, “Let’s see who can stop me from making it. Bhhooo is the sound we generally make when we want to scare the daylights out of our enemies. That’s what I want to do to my enemies who are now doing a sequel to my film on the sly.” It is said that the cause of Manhoman’s decision is the result of a fall out between him and Varma that happened after the release of Bhoot. On the other hand, Bhatt feels that RGV must not be offended as “he has so much on his plate.” While Bhatt’s version will see the original cast reprising their roles, RGV is opting for newcomers instead.

Post the success of Haunted this year, Bhatt has received immense recognition for being the mastermind behind India’s first 3D venture. Naturally, offers are pouring on his doorstep as he takes the 3D format a step forward with upcoming ventures such as Raaz 3 and Dangerous Ishq. Zinta has recently hosted the Guinness World Records reality show ‘Ab India Todega’ for Colors TV, and will soon start filming for Tigmanshu Dhulia’s gangster flick Jai Ramji, touted to be her comeback film wherein she will co-star with Irrfan Khan and Arjun Rampal. Currently, her production company is readying a project under the direction of Prem Soni, whom she had guest starred in his debut film Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. Her first film will be a breezy romantic comedy with her starring as the female lead while she is in talks with several top names to fill in for the male lead. Although Soni’s debut was a debacle at the box office, Zinta is not at all threatened stating that “Even Imtiaz Ali’s first film, Socha Na Tha, wasn’t a blockbuster but today everyone wants to work with him.”

Apart from Zinta, other Bollywood beauties such as Sushmita Sen, Dia Mirza and Ameesha Patel are also venturing into film production. Lara Dutta had also released her home production Chalo Dilli last April, which found minor success at the box office. The film is said to be an erotic thriller, which will be filmed in 3D. Its plot deals with three characters including an older man and his wife who cheats on him with a man her age. Model Ganesh Venkatraman is in talks to play Kapoor’s lover while Bhatt confirms that he sees none other than himself fit for the husband’s role. The director, who’s known for perfecting the horror genre, had dubbed for his actors several times in the past but it is only now that he decided to face the camera.

After the success of his first 3D venture, Haunted, he has decided to take the 3D format to a whole new level this time around. In a conversation with Times of India, Bhatt disclosed that the film is female oriented and will see Kapoor play the central character, “Dangerous Ishq is a thriller based on past-life regression. We start shooting in September in Rajasthan.” We’re certainly looking forward to see what these ‘dangerous’ combinations have to offer!

It seems that the season of comebacks has arrived, with Raveena Tandon sharing screen space with Amitabh Bachchan in Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap this July, Madhuri Dixit is also considering Soham Shah’s modern take on Satta Pe Satta opposite Sanjay Dutt.

Coming to the good news, the ‘Lazy Lamhe’ babe said marriage will not happen for the next two years, “Marriage could be on the cards, but right now, it is time to focus on our respective careers.” The actress claims that she’s not ready to give up work yet, and that she still wants to face the camera, “Work is my worship. I can’t dream of not being in front of the camera. I’m only married to my work. Marriage is the farthest from my mind. I haven’t seen Kanav in two months and won’t be able to for at least another couple of months. But it’s okay. Work first. All else can wait,” she says. She also added that she has a long-distance relationship with her boyfriend Kanav Puri, “It’s fun to e-mail and wait for calls. We also use the Blackberry messenger. We work very hard so when we get a few days together we value them. We also Skype sometimes. Kanav is in London so, I have no distraction. I can only focus on work.”

Patel’s plate is full of work at the moment; she has two films in her kitty this year. Run Bhola Run with Govinda, which releases in October, will see Patel in a very pivotal role. The film is a comic thriller about two convicts, Govinda and Tusshar Kapoor, who try and get out of jail to get hold of her. Her next release, Chatur Singh Two Star, is an action comedy that will see her play Sanjay Dutt’s ladylove who helps him solve his mysteries.

Last but not least, after five long years, Ameesha has finally patched up with her brother Ashmit and it was reported that both were spotted watching Love Aaj Kal at PVR Juhu, incidentally on the special day of Raksha Bandhan. Ameesha said, “It’s a personal matter and I do not wish to discuss it.” But she did add, “Yes, I went to PVR on Tuesday night to see the posters of Ashmit’s new film Toss.” Now we hope Ameesha takes a step further and reconciles with parents.
