Deepika Padukone has just finished up going around the globe for the promotions of her film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani alongside co-star Ranbir Kapoor. Some even wander whether she still has feelings for him by spending a couple of months with Ranbir shooting a love story. When asked if she remembered her childhood love from school Deepika laughs saying “I went to a convent school, so there were no boys there!”

Being in the industry for a couple of years now Deepika explains “I won’t say I have struggled in Mumbai, but everyday has been a new day for me. I have learnt a lot in all these years in the industry. Coming from a different city, having a sports background, entering an industry that I am totally unaware about, has been difficult, but I am settled now. Today I maintain my own house and of course, my career & everything has been totally different than what I saw or learnt during my growing up days. I had never visited a film set before my debut film Om Shanti Om.”

As Deepika has worked with the same actor more than once recently, she showed some interest to working with Salman Khan. On the other hand it’s heard that Salman Khan as already selected someone else for his latest movie Kick. Although, Deepika shouldn’t worry as she’s still regarded as a popular actress and may get a chance another time.

Ileana D’Cruz doesn’t take risks in appearances

Everyone has fashion fails and success’ after all, when you’re famous what you do to what you wear is noted and criticized. Whilst many may change it up and be spontaneous, Ileana D’Cruz doesn’t take risks when it comes to fashion. Always looking good the star likes to keep it simple and comfortable.

“I believe that you must be comfortable in what you are wearing. I like wearing something simple, not over the top and something which fits really well,” Ileana recently said in an interview.

She not only sticks to the basics when it comes to fashion but whilst juggling shoots for different things, Ileana sticks to a healthy diet as such a busy schedule takes the toll on her skin and hair. Good hair and skin boost self-confidence.

“I think whether we admit or not, the first thing that you notice is the face and hair. It is the way you carry yourself. If you have healthy hair, you will have self-confidence. Also, all women want to have fabulous hair,” she said.

She even acknowledges her own imperfections and says that “The amount of pressure people put in trying to make you look perfect…I believe, you find perfection in imperfection. I may not have a perfect face or perfectly aligned nose, but that is just the way you are.”

The fact that Ileana also promotes ads for Fair and Lovely, Clear and Electrolux make it clear as to why she doesn’t take risks in any part of her appearance. She explains how “The ad has come out beautifully. It is exactly what I expected it to be. Most of the people who are associated with the brand have put so much of trust in me to represent them. The ad showcases what they really want to say,”

With mother’s day passing this week, an online poll conducted by Gourav Rakshit, COO of Shaadi.com, was to see who the general public thought were the most popular Indian mothers. Topping the charts were Bollywood actresses with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan with 52.38%, trailed by Madhuri Dixit Nene with 29.27% and Sridevi at 18.35%.

The poll received over 16,000 replies, also showing that 60.48% feel Tanuja and Kajol have the most popular mother-daughter relationship, and 2.26% saying Neetu Singh and Ranbir Kapoor have the most popular mother-son relationship.

The poll further enlightens us that 40.1% of the people believe that Malaika Arora Khan has balanced her career and family life followed by 30.37% choosing Mary Kom and 29.53% going with Sonia Gandhi.

Gourav certifies that “The poll showcases some of the most successful Indian women whose love and dedication also makes them popular mothers. This suggests the people are looking at celebrities as real people with real relationships. The poll is part of the consistent research that we do to gauge the preferences of today’s youth.”

Katrina Kaif turns Stylist

Katrina Kaif is always known to shine in anything she wears wherever she goes, and is therefore considered to be one of the best dressed in Bollywood. Now, she will be able using her knowledge of fashion in her films further working with onset stylists and molding her character for a better fit. In Dhoom: 3 and Bang Bang Katrina will be sharing her views in regard to the style of her characters to some extent. She says “I am very much involved in my films’ styling, though I don’t like shopping for myself.”

It’s believed that Katrina will be trying to get on a whole new level of fashion and will be making sure she looks extra perfect in everything. Styling in films will not be the only time Katrina will be having an input, from not on it’s said that she will be working with stylists for her brand endorsements and public appearances. Knowing that Katrina is able to pull of anything she wears, there’s still a lot left to imagine with what she’ll pull off next.

Kareena Kapoor represents the fourth generation of the Kapoor Family and says that acting is in her genes and, she’s absolutely right. Being in the film industry for over 85 years, nothing less is expected. Prithviraj Kapoor was the first Kapoor to get into the industry by entering showbiz in 1928 where his 3 sons followed and soon where Shashi Kapoor’s wife Jennifer became the first female to act in movies from the family.

From then on it all the Kapoor’s did. Every generation entered the industry and continued making an impact on the industry. By the fourth generation it was Karishma; daughter of Randhir and Babita Kapoor who was the first Kapoor female by birth of the Kapoor family to continue in the footpath laid out and carry the legacy. Kareena also followed her sister’s footsteps.

By being involved in the industry for over 85 years and with Indian cinema celebrating 100 years this year Kareena tells how “As a child, I used to accompany Lolo (Karishma) to the sets of her films, so I’ve seen the industry grow and vice versa. I have nothing but the highest regards for the industry,”

Kareena now has finished off 13 years in the industry being a part of over 45 films with many hits such as Ajnabee, Jab We Met and 3 Idiots.

Farah Khan searching for Happy New Year heroine

From acting in her first film last year in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, to recently choreographing the theme song for the T-20 tournament Dil Jumping Zapaak, which was a tribute to singing star Kishore Kumar, Farah Khan is still on the hunt for her heroine for her latest film.

Although there have been numerous rumours of who the heroine might be, the latest being Katrina Kaif, the choreographer turned director is still searching for a heroine to co star with Shah Rukh Khan in her film Happy New Year. Farah tells how she knew SRK was the one for the role, but is still looking for the right female lead. “I’m looking for the right face and will tell you (the media) shortly when we find her.. SRK was an automatic choice for the film”. SRK wasn’t picked because they were great pals but because since having worked with him in previous films, she knew he would fit the role well.

Farah has a lot o her plate and it continues to grow whilst she juggles her own career, her aspirations and of course her family. Once she finds a heroine, she’ll be even busier with filming and bookings.

Priyanka Chopra duo with Pitbull

Last year there was rumours going on about Priyanka Chopra singing with Pitbull and now it’s confirmed. PC has taken to the world with her singing releasing her first single In My City and her 2^nd Erase and now is quite busy these days working on her next single. Currently, PC is in Miami working on a musical collaboration with rapper Pitbull called Exotic. Initially the collaboration with Pitbull will be her 2^nd release from her album.

“Whilst PC records her part, Pitbull will join her after he performs at the Indian Premier League (IPL)” says a source. Even though PC is juggling films on one side she still wanted to keep up to date with her music career as she felt it’s needed for her to discover herself beyond the point of her previous songs.

PC is already topping the charts with her first single and now pairing up with international sensation Pitbull, it’s sure to make the climb to the top easier.

Kareena Kapoor has come out and said that marriage is not a crime for an actress. Kareena wed Saif Ali Khan in October 2012 and she believes that professional and personal aspects of life shouldn’t be mixed.

Kareena was at the FICCI FRAMES where she lit the ceremonial lamp for the three day event.

“If a girl loves someone or gets married, it doesn’t mean that people will not love her or her character on-screen. These (films and marriage) are two different aspects and we should not try and club them. Anyways, falling in love or getting married is not a crime,” Kareena explains.

Actresses have always acted after marriage. It has just become more aware these days. Back in the days Kareena sites some actresses who acted after marriage…”Waheedaji or Sharmilaji, there were all married and they all acted in films like Daag, Amar Prem and Guide. It has been happening ever since”.

There is nothing to stop an actress acting after she gets married and there’s nothing to make an actress continue acting. Some like to step down and some like to continue.

Sonam Kapoor impressed by Ayushmann Khurrana

Fashionista Sonam Kapoor isn’t an easy person to impress, but Ayushmann Khurrana has done it. Ayushmann has wowed Sonam with his demeanour and natural emoting skills. “Ayushmann Khurrana is a thorough gentleman. He is such a natural actor, so well-behaved and respectful,” Sonam compliments.

Currently the two are in the capital shooting a romantic comedy, where Sonam plays a lawyer for an untitled project for Yash Raj Films’, which is directed by Nupur Asthana. “I love working with him. It has been the most wonderful experience working with a co-star” enlightens Sonam.

The pair even seems to have the same music taste as they both went to a Norah Jones concert right after finishing the shoot for the day of the concert.

We hear that Sonam has finished shooting for Ranjhanaa, where she plays opposite south star Dhanush and is now excitingly awaiting the release of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag where she is seen opposite Farhan Akhtar, who plays a legendary athlete.

Deepika Padukone is her own competition

We’ve heard of actresses competing with other actresses, but for one actress, her competition is none other than herself. Deepika Padukone is in the deep end treading water in her own work.

This year Deepika has four releases in a time span of six months. She will be on the big screen in different roles for a continuous period of time. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is the first movie scheduled to release on May 31st opposite Ranbir Kapoor, Chennai Express opposite Shah Rukh Khan will release August 8th, Ram Leela during October with Ranveer Singh and finally there’s Kochadaiyaan which stars the south sensation Rajnikanth is said to release sometime this year.

Looks like Deepika doesn’t even have the time to see what the competition is or even think about it. It’s Deepika vs. Deepika 2013.
