Bollywood actors Farhan Akhtar and Sonam Kapoor along with film maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra launched the DVD of movie ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ in the showbiz capital Mumbai recently. During the course of the evening, both Sonam and Farhan spoke about the film, their experience of working with each other. ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’ based on the life of “The Flying Sikh”, Milkha Singh, the movie was released on 12th July 2013 and now fans can get their copy on DVD!
About getting so lost in the character of Milkha Singh, Farhan said, “It is difficult to explain. You react as an actor to the emotion of the character and of course the story. You try your hardest to be in the moment, in every scene when you are making the film. And to just feel and believe you are that person is also very crucial. It is difficult to explain but I think the closest I can is to follow Milkhaji’s philosophy which is “Work really hard and success and good things will follow”.
Actress Sonam Kapoor said about the huge success of BMB, “A film like ‘Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’, doing well is a great way to inspire other filmmakers to make quality cinema… it is a great way forward. It has set an example and its brilliant. It makes me happy.”
About working on the film director Mehra, “His whole life inspired us. I enjoyed every moment of it. We went out everyday to do our jobs and came back home thinking ‘did we do well or not?’ But in all, it was a hugely learning experience. It was one of the most challenging films which I had attempted and I am glad that it worked out.”
