King of Comedy, David Dhawan’s latest offering Chashme Baddoor had its music launch recently where the event was open for everyone. A remake of the 1981 Sai Paranjpye movie, the 2013 version stars Siddharth Narayan, Ali Zafar, Divyendu Sharma and Taapsee who were all present. The music is by Sajid-Wajid. The event was held at a mall in Mumbai were the setup was done to reflect the Goa set from the movie.
“I never feel the pressure of making films. People follow my films. I have done around 40 films. It is part and parcel of the industry…If you like something you do it. I am not under pressure”, Dhawan said adding, “The soul of the film remains same. The scenes have been changed, considering today’s youth. That time was different, but the emotion remains same. I think I have made a good film. The film is primarily about friendship.”
“This film is a perfect launch pad for me in Bollywood. I couldn’t have asked for anything better. I feel I am lucky to get a film like this,” said Taapsee who is making her Bollywood debut with this movie. So do they have any kamina friends in their real life. “I have one – Divyendu,” said Siddharth and Divyendu added, “Mujhe kai mile hain par unmain sabse jyaada Siddharth hi hai!” Ali Zafar who was at his wittiest best had the crowd in splits when he told the story of how he wanted the song Mashallah in the movie!
The song ‘Har Ek Friend Kamina Hota Hai’ is already getting popular and it’s no wonder that the tagline was the major topic of discussion with the lead cast engaging in a masti filled banter of friendship, love and kaminapan. Not only that, they took to the stage later where they all sang and danced to the song choreographed by Ganesh Acharya who was also present at the event.
The audience also got to be a part of the event as some lucky winners were called in to launch the music of the movie and also click snaps with the stars.
The film release on April 5.
