Ekta Kapoor, Huma Qureshi and Emraan Hashmi have been invited to the Maha Kumbh by the Honourable H.H Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji, Founder of Ganga Action Parivar, President of Parmarth Niketan Ashram, Rishikesh, to attend the Mahayagna on February 9th. This mahayagna is being organized especially for the forthcoming film Ek Thi Daayan to calm the negative spirits attached to the film. It is believed to be happening for daayan mukti.
The cast of Ek Thi Daayan is going to the Mahakumbh for a holy dip in the Ganga on the famous mauni amavasya to seek divine blessings and remove every negativity that could get associated with a title like Ek Thi Daayan, a supernatural thriller. Ekta is deeply spiritual in her outlook and has firm faith in the healing powers of the various spiritual teachings of Indian masters and vedas.
The mauni amavasya snaan is a very important bathing ritual according to vedic and tantric tradition and an invitation to attend the mahayagna is an auspicious indication.
Ek Thi Daayan, directed by Kannan Iyer, produced by Vishal Bharadwaj and Ekta Kapoor, is about daayans or witches that have a strong references in Indian culture and mythology. And the emergence of myths and stories around daayans in buildings of modern Indian cities.
Itinerary for the two days at the Mahakumbh:
February 9th the Daayan Mukti Mahayagna with Huma, Emraan and Ekta and Guruji the Honourable H.H Pujya Swami Chidanand Saraswatiji for Ek Thi Daayan – 10 am onwards. Then they will be showcasing the trailer of the film to the media, eminent speakers, dignitaries, religious babas and general audience by the talent followed by a LIVE DEBATE with the talent on one side and eminent speakers, babas on the others debating the relevance of the film, the concept of Daayans – do they exist? After that Ekta Kapoor to visit the “LETE HANUMAN” temple followed by an evening of music and meditation
On February 10th: (MOUNI AMAVASYA) Ekta Kapoor to go for the Shahi Snaan followed by a Havan at the Sangam Delta at 11 am
