It had a huge buzz even before we saw the first shots with everyone including singer Bappi Lahri saying wait until you see this picturization! We are talking about the hit song ‘Oh La La’ from The Dirty Picture and we must agree because the song is well… fabulous. Not only does Vidya Balan look absolutely gorgeous as Silk Smitha, but the scenes in the film are a perfect representation of songs in 1980s Indian films! In case you didn’t know The Dirty Picture is about the life of South Indian film star Silk Smitha. Imagine a make-up girl who became an extra and then the most wanted heroine of the early 80s.

Chronicling the meteoric rise and steep fall of the erstwhile screen sensation, The Dirty Picture is set against the colorful and entertaining backdrop of the fierce male-dominated South-Indian film industry of the 80s.

The quintessential siren, Silk, knew her audiences, and it didn’t seem like anything would stop the ambitious starlet, till it did, in the form of unrequited love.

To the world, she was the queen of sensuality. But at heart, she was just another woman yearning for love in a ruthless world.

Directed by Milan Luthria, The Dirty Picture also stars Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor, Naseeruddin Shah and is set to hit cinemas on December 2nd!

As a special treat for BollySpice readers we have a look behind the scenes into what went into the making of ‘Oh La La’!
