Since the announcement in Cannes that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will play the female lead in Madhur Bhandarkar’s next film Heroine there has been a lot of talk about who will take on the male lead.
Speculations said Abhishek Bachchan is all set to take on the role but now it has been confirmed that Arunoday Singh, who is best known for his roles in Yeh Saali Zindagi and Aisha, will be romancing Aishwarya on the big screen.
A source confirmed the news, to the media, saying, “Madhur wanted to finish the casting of his film Heroine since the film was announced at Cannes sometime back. However, after much thought, Arunoday Singh has been roped in for the film.”
The story of the film is yet to be revealed, but Madhur Bhandarkar did dismiss the rumours that the film is inspired by Marilyn Monroe and Elizabeth Taylor saying, “Neither Monroe nor Taylor have inspired my movie. People are making assumptions. Nothing is true.”
Arjun Rampal is also set to star in the movie that is set to go on the floors by June 10th 2011.
