Though his production banner Dharma Productions has been largely successful in delivering blockbusters, it still isn’t seen as one of the leading production houses of Bollywood since it barely produces one film per year, if that.

It seems Karan Johar is all set to change that, with new resolutions vowing to set Dharma Productions soaring sky-high. He recently announced four films, outlined briefly below:

1. ‘Khan’ (tentative title) directed by Karan Johar:
Though the title has yet to be confirmed (some believe it’s ‘My Name is Khan’), this project will be directed by Karan himself. Set to begin filming in October 2008, it will star the ever-so-sizzling pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol, bringing them back on-screen for the first time since Kabhi Kushi Kabhie Gham. Karan claims that the film is an emotional love story. It’s being written by Shibani Bhatija, who also penned Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

2. ‘Dostana’ directed by Tarun Mansukhani:
After going through numerous casting changes, the film is set to roll and release by the end of this year. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham and reportedly Bobby Deol has been roped in for a special appearance. After serving as an assistant director to Karan ever since his debut film, Tarun Mansukhani will be making his directional debut with this flick. Reportedly, it will be a romantic comedy with an interesting twist.

3. Untitled Projected directed by Rensil D’Silva:
As the current hot couple of the headlines, Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan will be starring together once again after Tashan. Not much is known about this one other than the fact that it will begin filming around the same time as ‘Khan’ and will also star another lead actor. Note that the director, Rensil D’Silva, has written films like Rang De Basanti and the upcoming Dilli 6.

4. ‘Kootchie Kootchie Hota Hain’ directed by Tarun Mansukhani:
An animated remake of Karan’s debut film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, this one will have the same story as the original but the characters will be animated dogs. It is being co-produced by an animation studio based in Los Angeles. The best part is that the original cast of Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherjee will reprise their roles and lend their voices to the film.

With such an interesting line-up of films, don’t be surprised if Dharma Productions rises a notch or two in the next two years.
