Vivek Oberoi has reportedly said that critics should stop attacking the Commonwealth Games. The actor is unhappy with the negative press the event has attracted in recent weeks, according to reports the Mumbai Mirror.

The actor suggested: “Rather than criticising them we should once just stand up and ask what can we do for our country.”

Oberoi also praised the hard of everyone involved in the project: “We have this habit of criticising a lot. We tend to raise [a] finger on others. They have been doing a lot for our country.”

The star, who is known for his work with social causes in India, will be seen next in Rakta Charitra. The Ram Gopal Varma film is scheduled for release October 22.

Interestingly, Nehru Stadium, the venue for the CWG opening ceremony is the same venue where Shah Rukh Khan and other Bollywood actors performed on their Temptation 2005 tour. The concert was postponed twice and delayed by a number of months, before finally given the go ahead.

Without sounding like a Ram Gopal Varma horror film, we at Bollyspice wonder if the venue is cursed?
