He made a splash in a small part in Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and once again he impressed as one of the main characters in Dhobhi Ghat. So much so that Prateik Babbar’s success in Dhobi Ghat has lead him to his first role as the romantic lead of a mainstream Hindi film. His costar will be UK native Amy Jackson, who has performed in other South Indian films, but this will be her first foray into Bollywood.
The film is a remake of the Tamil film Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. While the Hindi version will have it’s own flavor, it is based upon the love story between two people from different religions and cultures.
Prateik’s acting in Dhobi Ghat established him as a talented artist, but will the romantic element be an easy change for the newbie? We will find out when the film is released in July of this year.
