The rumors circling around Rani Mukerji and her single or supposedly soon to be married state are still swirling. Recently there were reports that after Laaga Chunari Mein Daag is finished, she will no longer be signing or filming any new movies because she is getting married. This is just an over zealous press report because in fact she has already started to shoot for Kunil Kohli’s next film which also stars Saif Ali Khan.

According to a source, “Rani has been shooting for the last two weeks and is totally immersed in the project. She has neither the time nor the inclination to get married or to issue periodical denials about the spurt of lies that keep appearing in the tabloids about her.”

Besides signing this new film, Rani has been working hard lately and in the upcoming Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, Rani tackled the very difficult role of a traditional Brahmin girl who has to, in order to support her family, become a high paid call girl.

She also has a role in the highly anticipated Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. “Rani’s turn as the golden-hearted tart is so ebullient and enchanting; Rani is likely to prove the scene-stealer of the show,” says Bhansali about her performance in the film.

On the subject of marriage the source said that, “Rani is too much into her work to think about marriage. She’s also getting her two new homes ready and will be moving in soon. One of those places has wrongly been perceived as her love nest. It’s strictly an office to meet producers, trade people and journalists. With her family home now filled with the pitter-patter of her niece’s feet, Rani didn’t want to bring her work into her home.”

Saif Ali Khan confirmed that the two would be working together in Kohil’s untitled film saying, “I’m currently shooting for Yashraj’s Tashan. Rani has already started shooting for Kunal’s film. I join them in November.”
