Finally. What we have all been speculating for months is finally certain. Saif Ali Khan has opted out of Karan Johar’s next production to be directed by Tarun Mansukhani. The film also stars Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai (yes, again!).

While many are speculating that Saif was not satisfied with his role in comparison into Abhishek and Aishwarya’s, Saif states, “It’s true that I am not doing Tarun’s film. I don’t have the dates and there is nothing more to it than that.” Well, that sets the record straight!

He is currently working on Abbas-Mustan’s Race with Anil Kapoor, Akshaye Khanna and Bipasha Basu. In a mere few weeks, he will begin working on Yash Raj’s Tashan with Kareena Kapoor, Akshay Kumar and Anil Kapoor. Right after, he goes into Kunal Kohli’s next with Rani Mukerji and Kajol.

Still, Saif’s decision not to do his film does not seem to have Karan phased. He explains, “Saif had a date issue which is why he opted out of Tarun’s film. He is doing Kunal’s (Kohli) film around the same time. Tarun’s film will start by October. It’s an extensive, non-stop schedule.” As for the actor that will replace Saif, Karan says, “We’re on the look out and should finalise that in the next couple of days.”
