Slumdog Millionaire Earns 10 Academy Award Nominations

Danny Boyle’s acclaimed motion picture Slumdog Millionaire earned 10 Academy Award nominations on January 22 giving it the second most of any film. Renowned composer A.R. Rahman won 3 Oscar nods for his work in the film. Nominations for Slumdog Millionaire include:

The 81st annual Academy Awards will be held on Sunday, February 22, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood and will be broadcast live in over 200 countries around the world.

This past weekend, Slumdog Millionaire climbed up to number ten on the North American box office chart and has grossed $44.2 million to date. It is currently the number one movie in the United Kingdom and releases in India tomorrow, January 23.
