You have to trust Farah Khan, who directed box office blockbusters Main Hoon Na and Om Shanti Om, to come up with original ideas. Taking an idea from one of her most popular choreographed songs, Chaiyya Chaiyya, Farah decided to take the media for a train ride and present them with the music of her next directorial venture Tees Maar Khan.

There were 125 media people on the train travelling from CST Mumbai to Lonavala. Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif and the rest of the cast and crew travelled along and interacted with the media on this 150 minute long journey. The train was wonderfully decorated with posters of the film in the carriages and even featured a red carpet to make the media and all those involved feel like they were on the set of a film premiere.

The idea was based on the character ‘Tees Maar Khan’ as he launches his biggest heist yet – a mastermind plan to rob 500 crore rupees from a heavily guarded, moving train. Farah wanted the music to be released in a unique way. “We thought that we could release it this way, so we give all of you an experience. It’s an important film for us and I wanted to do something out-of-the-box. And besides, just doing the normal press conference thing gets kind of boring.”

On working with Akshay, Farah expressed her fondness for the superstar. “He is so adorable, he is so handsome, and he comes to shoot on time. No one but him could have done this role.”

Akshay Kumar confessed he hadn’t travelled in a train for quite a while. “I didn’t travel with a train for 24 years. I am having such a great time. I went to the back where you have these compartments where you can sleep and I thought why not, and took a nap for about two minutes.”

Katrina Kaif was very pleased with the idea of doing something different for a music release and added that she thinks trains are very romantic. “I like trains. Trains are very romantic places. It’s a very nice idea to launch the music of Tees Maar Khan on a train.”

The journey was filled with entertainment. Composers Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravijiani entertained everyone with a live performance and Akshay Kumar and Katrina went from compartment to compartment to meet everyone. Unfortunately, Akshaye Khanna couldn’t join the event as he was out of town.
