9. Preity Zinta (Heroes, The Last Lear)
What a comeback! After taking a huge dip over the last two years, Preity Zinta’s decision to explore her range as an actress has definitely paid off as the star returned with two great performances in diverse films. She seems to have finally taken the hint that if she didn’t smarten up, her time was running out in the industry. In the English-language film The Last Lear, we saw a side to Preity that we had never seen before. In the multi-starrer Heroes, Preity’s performance was hailed as the most sincere of the entire films, with several critics calling her the best part of the movie. Although it hasn’t released yet, Zinta gave an absolutely extraordinary performance in Deepa Mehta’s Heaven on Earth which earned her brilliant reviews around the globe. It’s so great to see this talented actress back in her element!
