Many children have the dream of becoming actors when they grow up and some lucky few get to experience that dream while they are still children. There are many child artists that work in Bollywood today and one of them is 14 year old Rahul Kumar. He has all ready worked with one of the finest directors in the industry, Vishal Bharadwaj in both Omkara and The Blue Umbrella and now he is getting ready to work for Raj Kumar Hirani in Three Idiots. Along with these amazing directors, the list of stars he has performed with is also quite impressive but getting the role in the new film has made a dream come true.

Rahul told IANS, “I could not believe for a few minutes that I have been offered a role with Aamir Khan. It was my long cherished dream that has come true.”

Along with Aamir Khan, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, R. Madhavan and Boman Irani. He does not know much about his character but does know he will be filming in Bangalore and in Goa.

About playing Saif’s son in Bharadwaj’s masterpiece Omkara the young man said, “It was really a good experience to work with Saif Ali Khan, Konkana Sen Sharma and Ajay Devgan.”

Coming from a poor family Rahul’s dream of becoming an actor almost did not happen but with the help of the NGO Literacy India he was able to train for his dream. “I was interested in acting from a very young age but the monetary problems in family stopped me from taking professional training. In 2000, I came to know about the drama school and since then I have been taking acting lessons there.” Literacy India offers drama classes for underprivileged kids in Delhi and many of the instructors are from the National School of Drama.
