Rajkumar Hirani had managed a casting coup of sorts when he had brought together Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor together for the first time onscreen in 3 Idiots. Now Karan Johar has managed to do the same with Khan’s nephew, bringing together Kareena and Imran Khan together for his upcoming movie Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (EMAET).

Yup, that’s the finalized title of Shakum Batra’s directorial debut to be produced by UTV Motion Pictures. Earlier tentatively titled as Short Term Shaadi, both felt that the title was not true to the essence of the movie which is why they had been brainstorming on the movie name for a very long time. Having finally decided upon EMAET, the process to approve it took a long time and hence the delay in the announcement but the title was revealed to all with the release of the first look of the movie.

So what is EMAET all about? “This story is about the conversational chemistry between these two very beautiful people — Imran and Kareena. EMAET is a witty, feel-good, slice-of-life comedy and it conveys the energies of this couple. And this title fits the rom-com perfectly,” said Karan Johar. To be released on 10th February, KJo says that it’s a perfect Valentine’s Day movie to be seen with your date or your friend. Considered the king of the romance genre, Karan highly hopes that this proves to be a hat-trick for him in the rom-com genre with Wake Up Sid and I Hate Luv Storys. “Kareena hasn’t done a rom-com in a while; Imran has made a perfect place for himself in this genre. As I said earlier, this film has captured the conversational chemistry of these two perfectly. And though Imran has acted with several other leading ladies, the USP of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is seeing Bebo and him together for the first time.” Talking about the new lead pair, Karan revealed that Imran is a huge fan of Kareena. And Kareena seems to have enjoyed working with Imran too what with reports of her suggesting Imran’s name for the sequel of Once Upon A Time In Mumbai.
