I remember watching Alicia Silverstone in 1995’s Clueless again and again. Her revolving wardrobe was in my wish list for years. Confusions about, life, rules, do’s and don’ts, genuine desire to help the unprivileged, first love, the perfect life – Alicia’s character was greatly relatable at that age and time. 15 years later, Bollywood once again tries its hand at a trick it has been juggling for decades – making a remake. ‘Join the confusion!’ reads the poster at the theatre as I made my way to catch the screening of Anil Kapoor’s production house’s first rom-com ‘Aisha. I should have known. Classily wrapped, re-christened Aisha, capturing the banter of 20-somethings as they zip past life and all the things that go with it.

Welcome to the Kapoor household. Set in the super rich section of upper-market Delhi, Daddy Kapoor (M K Raina) preaches on love and life, pays credit card bills with equal ardor while keeping a fierce protective eye on daughter Aisha (Sonam Kapoor), well-bred and domesticated. When not shopping or attending parties, exhibitions and polo matches, she works her manicured hands hitting arrows in the dark
