It is raining Sonam Kapoor films this year and from the first teasers they have fans in a tizzy! Besides IHLS with Imran Khan, Sonam is also taking on a role from classic literature – Jane Austen’s Emma. Titled Aisha, the film, instead of Regency England, is set in modern day Delhi. However, the characters and the matchmaking mistakes and of course all the happy endings are all based on the classic tale.

Synopsis:
Delhi kudi Aisha (Sonam) has a straightforward agenda – everyone’s affairs are her affairs. Investment Banker Arjun (Abhay) has a simpler theory – Aisha needs to manage her own her affairs.

Set in Delhi’s uber-cool, modish social world, Aisha maneuvers her life with style, enthusiasm and buoyancy. Caught in the Aisha’s maze are ‘partner-in-crime’ best friend Pinky, small-town girl Shefali, Delhi boy Randhir and London-returned-playboy Dhruv.

Aisha will not stop at anything to take her matchmaking skills all the way. Yet, all Arjun wants to do is disentangle that web and pull Aisha out of an impending sticky mess. Who will succeed and who will succumb?

What ensues is confusion, romance and lots of match-fixing! Welcome to Aisha’s extraordinary world where playing cupid is as easy as 123… as long as Arjun stays out of her way!

Starring Abhay Deol, Ira Dubey, Amrita Puri, Cyrus Sahukar, Lisa Haydon, Arunoday Singh and of course Sonam Kapoor, Aisha comes to theaters on August 6th!
