Anushka Sharma and newbie Ranveer Singh arrived in style to the Band Baaja Baraat Press Conference. The band played famous wedding songs as the actors looking dapper and excited took pictures before facing the media. Going by the title, the film of course is about wedding planners who take it upon themselves to reduce the stress and tension of wedding planning.

The press were greeted in true wedding style with garlands and rose water putting them in a festive shaadi mood.

Anushka, the more senior of the two, took to the mic first as she explained the plot of the film. She explained that the current generation prefers to give their careers more of a priority versus relationships. “The character of Bittu and Shruti break through barriers as they become wedding planners. These two characters are very endearing and different,” she told the press. Ranveer Singh added that while in the past, it was up to the families to plan and organize weddings, times have changed. “This is the new age; a new India. Every avenue, every business is now growing including the line of wedding planning,” he claimed.

When quizzed on working with Anushka Sharma, Ranveer joked, “She would sit on the sets with a stick!” He went on to add that Sharma was professional and supportive. “Anuskha, just like her character in the film, is very focused, very determined and is a spunky character!” The duo found themselves pondering over whose wedding they’d like to plan from the Bollywood circuit which was a question posed to them. Smartly, Ranveer dodged the question by letting the press know that as a promotion, production house to the film Yash Raj would be hosting a wedding for a real life couple. Ranveer Singh went on to thank the production house for this innate opportunity. He said, “To be the solo hero to be launched by Yash Raj, is a dream come true. I could have not thought of a more accomplished production house to be launched by than Yash Raj Films.”

The film is scheduled to be released on December 10th, 2010.
