Mahesh Bhatt is planning a follow-up to his femme fatale funfair, Jism – but this time in 3D! “When Hollywood filmmakers are thinking of making adults film in 3D, why not we?” he asks, “Frankly, I struck upon the idea when I was watching the recent 3D film Avatar, especially the love scenes.”

Bollywood has been slow to take to 3D when even football matches in the UK are now broadcast in the medium, but stand by for an avalanche in the near future. However, Jism 2 will not star Bips in a reprisal of her role as the ending of the original sadly doesn’t really allow for it. “We need a talented girl with a great body to pull off Jism 2,” explains co-producer Pooja Bhatt, “We need two male actors too. The search is on. The film’s cast will be a combination of fresh and established stars. My father will complete the script by May.”

The race is now on in Bollywood to produce the first movie in the new enhanced 3D technology. Ram Gopal Varma recently announced his decision to produce Raksha, an Indiana Jones-style movie with possibly John Abraham in the lead. “Considering the kind of action that is being planned, John will have to tone down his physique for a slightly leaner look,” he suggests, “He will have to train for a couple of weeks before we start shooting later this year.”

Vikram Bhatt is planning on making an I-horror Yama Dwar. Meanwhile, the cheaper option of converting 2D into 3D digitally is being considered for Rajnikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s Endhiran and Shekhar Kapoor’s ambitious sci-fi venture Paani about a water revolutionary, possibly starring Hrithik Roshan, is also being targeted for the process.
