Bollywood glamour boosted the annual Gitanjali Lifestyle Derby at the Mahalaxmi racecourse yesterday when Raima Sen, Neetu Chandra and Urvashi Sharma galloped to the winner’s enclosure to award the prizes. Designer Archana Kochhar added to the event with a fashion show themed in short blue summer dresses. The prestigious 1000 guineas was won by Jacqueline ridden by Irishman Richard Hughes.

Gitanjali followed up the event the next day with a bridal fashion show at the Royal Western India Turf Club which also featured Raima and Brazilian actress Giselle Monteiro, fast making her name in Bollywood circles. Raima in a french lace bridal lehenga stole the show but insists she has no plans for the moment to marry herself. “Marriage can wait for a long time now,” she confirmed, “But I will definitely get married in future.”

Meanwhile, Giselle Monteiro, born in Espirito Santo, who impressed so much in Love Aaj Kal, says she is taking her time before taking her next step in Bollywood. “I’m living in Mumbai, doing some modelling here and there and also going for auditions,” she explains, “I’m happy with the offers I’m getting, but haven’t signed any as yet. I’m kind of selective about the movies.”
