The first song of Homi Adajania’s upcoming movie Finding Fanny was released recently in Mumbai where the star couple – Arjun Kapoor and Deepika Padukone – was present along with the director. Just like the movie promises to be, the song ‘Oh Fanny Re’ is quirky and fun where all the lead actors of the movie are seen dancing on an eccentric set. The launch was quite unique with Arjun and Deepika themselves hosting the event. The song was performed live by music director Mathias Duplessy and Mukhtiyar Ali with dancers wearing the masks with faces of Deepika, Arjun, Naseeruddin, Dimple and Pankaj and performing to the song! Sachin and Jigar, the talented music duo, also performed their song “Shake your Bootiya” clearly moving on from Babaji ki ‘Booty’ to ‘Bootiya’!

Talking about the movie, both Arjun and Deepika said that it was Homi’s narration of an interesting tale which made them take up this film. When comparisons with her character in Chennai Express popped up Deepika mentioned that being Konkani herself she really didn’t have to learn the Konkani accent for Finding Fanny but just tweaked it– unlike for Meenamma in Chennai Express for which she had to practice her Tamilian accent. Homi said that he was proud of the efforts all the actors had put in the film – whether is was Deepika doing an English film for the first time or Dimple who put on a 20 kg prosthetic bottom and a stomach for her character.

The movie has been shot in English and dubbed in Hindi. Producer Vijay Singh said that they would be releasing a different cut for the overseas audience just like they did with My Name is Khan. The movie will be releasing on September 12.
