Hot on the heels of being awarded a V. Shantaram Award for A Wednesday, Jimmy Shergill admits he likes to entertain too. “Too much realism without any entertainment makes a boring film,” he says, “I think there should be realism in movies, but the filmmaker must not get carried away and forget the entertainment aspect of it. I think the Munnabhai series are the best examples of the kind of films I believe in – those that entertain with a message.”

Jimmy has worked hard over the last couple of years to raise his profile appearing in movies such as Eklavya – The Royal Guard, Dus Kahaniyaan, Raqeeb, Strangers and Victoria No.203: Diamonds are Forever.

Jimmy also has a number of new releases lined up for release. They include the supernatural thriller Flat, Johnny Mastana and the anthology movie Mumbai Cutting. He is also awaiting a release from the rapidly-growing Punjabi film industry called Tera Mera Ki Rishta.
