It’s always too soon to get excited about casting rumours until the ink has dried on the paper, but the rumours circulating that both Aamir Khan and Hrithik Roshan may be signed up for the Bollywood remake of Tollywood monster hit Maghadeera is a mouth-watering prospect indeed. The rumours come with a pedigree too – as the producers of the movie are none other than Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena, the producers of Ghajini. “Yes Allu Arvind and I are remaking Magadheera in Hindi,” confirmed Madhu, “As for the cast, it`s too early to talk about it. But Magadheera is definitely being planned to be bigger than Ghajini.”

In a further sign of the increasing influence of south cinema on Bollywood, following the mass appropriation of their female stars, south-based productions such as Endhiran and Raavan and the mega-hits Ghajini and Wanted, it looks like both the remakes of Maghadeera and Arundhati may be released around the same time in 2011.

In the original Maghadeera, Ram Charan Teja stars alongside the beautiful Kajal Aggarwal. A tale of reincarnation and love set in the epic era of the 17th century and in the modern world of student bikers, the hero has a sworn legacy to protect the ‘kingdom’ – a legacy that carries the curse that he will never live beyond the age of thirty.

The question is – if both Aamir and Hrithik get roped into the remake, who will play the good guy and who will play the bad guy? And will Kajal reprise her role as the love interest? Or should we be wishing for Kajol?
