We have heard that the director was keen to add the local flavor of each city in its own unique way – The film will be shot extensively in Punjab, and when he suggested the same to Bhushan, the latter gave him full support, which will include a unique rustic flavor of places like Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Bhatinda and Jalandhar

The film, which will be shot extensively in the Northern parts of India, will have the Director give the audiences the local feel of Punjab, right from the folk music, which plays an integral part of the film, to the local top musicians of the state, we will see an all together new Punjabi culture which has not been seen on the big screen yet! Milan has already left for the recce with his team,

Milan has been often known to bring out a different side of India’s cities in his blockbuster movies, here’s a quick dekko at some of the best of them!

Kachche Dhaage, a 1999 action thriller which did quite well at the box office, marked his directorial debut that starred Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan & Manisha Koriala in the lead. This was his first film which was made at a grand scale decades earlier, he showcased the beautiful Rajashthan and the Rajasthani folk music like never before which is the pinnacle of the city, as it was shot extensively there. Right from the get up to the smaller towns/villages which were shown – the smaller nuances were taken care of – thus was born a Director who would go into the nitty-gritty’s and every aspect of film-making and give the audiences cinema which they would like.

Taxi No 9211 which was a 2006 Bollywood slice-of-life drama starred John Abraham along with Nana Patekar in lead roles. The film had received a positive response from critics, and was a box office success. The film was shot in various parts of Mumbai and showcased the city of dreams in a way which was never shown earlier..the normal day to day life of a Mumbai localite and many other aspects were perfectly highlighted in the flick.

Once Upon A Time In Mumbai was a 2010 period gangster film which had showcased the dark side of the City of Dreams Mumbai in 70’s style. The film starred Ajay Devgn & Emraan Hashmi and showcased Mumbai like never before, the film was shot at a grand scale and made audiences relive the 70’s era all over again

The Dirty Picture was a 2011 Indian biographical drama which was inspired by the life of Silk Smitha and starred Vidya Balan in the lead. The film was shot extensively in the South of India and showed the cinematic chennai of the 70’s. The film was a huge box office success and accolades were given to the entire team.

His films have always had the flavor of a particular city which he depicts quite beautifully – be it Rajasthan, Mumbai, Chennai and this time for Ajay Devgn starrer Baadshaho he has zeroed down on Punjab which surely be yet another aesthetically stunning representation of the colorful state.

The film will see music baron Bhushan Kumar & Milan Luthria in their first joint production and since the duo is known for their brilliant music collaboration in the past with Once Upon A Time in Mumbai and The Dirty Picture, it looks like Baadshaho too will surely please not only movie fans but music fans as well!
