Salman Khan’s former muse, Shriya Saran, is building her empire down south brick-by-brick. After successes in Tollywood and Kollywood, her latest step is to move into Mollywood with the movie Pokkiri Raja and top stars Mammootty and Pritviraj and it hit’s the floors in January for a thirty-day shoot.

Shriya has had a busy few months – her English language movie, Cooking with Stella was shown at the Toronto Film Festival recently and is due for release in India soon. The Deepa Mehta-scripted movie also stars Lisa Ray but Shriya says she had no idea about Lisa’s illness whilst she was making the movie. “I spent so much time with Lisa during the shoot but none of us had any idea about her illness,” she confirms, “But Lisa is so strong. I met her at the Toronto film fest last month she was looking as beautiful and radiant as ever. What was even better was that she was still so happy and energetic.”

Shriya also appeared earlier this year in a jaw-dropping persona in the Sivaji-lookalike Kanthaswamy with Vikram. She will be seen soon with Dhanush in Kutty, a remake of the hit Arya; and Jaggubhai with Sarath Kumar, set in Australia, will also hit the screens on December 11th.
