We’ve heard the question so many times when stars are being interviewed, “how much of the character is based on you”. The answers vary of depending on who and what kind of film, but for Delhi Belly actor Imran Khan, his latest film Mere Brother Ki Dulhan will see him playing Rutvik, a 20 something year old, middle class youngster that he claims is a lot like the film’s director, Ali Abbas Zafar.
“Ali, who’s from Dehradun, put a lot of himself into the character. I realized quite early that to understand Rutvik, I’d have to understand Ali. He was a great role model” says Imran when speaking to Hindustan Times. He also mentions that his character is almost nothing like his own and a complete opposite to his last role of Tashi in Delhi Belly. In fact, turn back time and you will witness Imran mentioning his character in film Break Ke Baad as the only role close to his own personality.
Mere Brother Ki Dulhan is set to release September 9th.
