Priyadarshan has realized the importance of keeping his comments to himself recently. It seems that during a television appearance, he is said to have quoted the Shah Rukh Khan — Shiv Sena battle as a “publicity stunt.” Of course he went on later to claim that he was misquoted but in the meantime has had to bear the brunt of it all. Since the interview, Priyadarshan has found himself being ignored by a number of industrywalas.
The director-producer clarified, “I was quoted out of context. I’d never speak like that about Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar. They’ve both been very nice to me. If I’ve hurt either of them I apologize to them publicly, and would like to add that in any conflict between filmmakers and politicians, I’d naturally and inevitably support my own fraternity.” Priyadarshan is hoping Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan will accept his apology and let go of his misquoted extract.
His next film will star Ajay Devgan, Bipasha Basu and Akshaye Khanna.
