Even after 11 years, the film feels timeless, with its songs crafted by the legendary AR Rahman and Irshad Kamil, which continue to resonate across generations as evergreen hits.
Taking to Instagram, Colour Yellow Productions shared a reel post, which is a befitting tribute to Aanand L Rai’s film anniversary and World Music Day. The reel featured popular soundtracks from the film, including Tum Tak (by Keerthi Sagathia, Pooja Vaidyanath and Javed Ali), Banarasiya (by Shreya Ghoshal, Anweshaa, and Meenal Jain), Nazar Laaye (by Rashid Ali, Neeti Mohan, Nakash Aziz & A.R. Rahman), Piya Milenge (by A.R. Rahman, KMMC Sufi Ensemble and Sukhwinder Singh), Aise Na Dekho (by A.R. Rahman and Karthik) and finally ending with the evergreen Raanjhanaa (by Jasvinder Singh and Shiraz Uppal).
Even though it’s been 11 years to Raanjhanaa’s release, the film continues to have an impact on people. Whether through its musical journey, the magical portrayal of love, or the palpable pain of heartbreak, the film’s relevance spans all age groups. Filmmaker Aanand L Rai, who helmed the movie under his production house Colour Yellow Productions, shared in an interview, “It’s fantastic to learn that people still listen to Raanjhanaa’s music and shower the same kind of love. It’s a film very close to my heart, and I’m happy that my film continues to make people smile.” The film’s music has been cherished since its release, with fans continuing to revisit and love the songs, holding them dear to their hearts.
‘Raanjhanaa’ stars Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, with their chemistry central to the story. The notable cast also includes Abhay Deol, Swara Bhasker, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, and Kumud Mishra. The film marked Aanand L Rai and Dhanush’s first collaboration, who went on to work in ‘Atrangi Re’ later on.
