Band Baaja Baaraat is set in the world of the Delhi wedding industry. But why Delhi, not Mumbai? Well, the reason is simple, director Maneesh Sharma is from Delhi. He has an intrinsic connection to the city and somehow knew he had to make a movie there. The DOP, writer, production designer and 4 ADs are all from Delhi too. The costume designer Niharika Khan sourced all the film’s costumes in Delhi. That film was shot there was very intriguing to the locals and nearly 6000 local people watched the Janakpuri shoot of the film. So as you can see, the director and the crew all say,“Yeh Dilli Hai Meri Jaan”!
