It has been reported that Amitabh Bachchan was approached by Ridley Scott who asked him to appear in his film Body of Lies. Unfortunately, now it seems Big B will be forced to pass the project.
Bachchan says, “I had received an e-mail from Ridley Scott. I asked for the script and was informed that they are working on it at the moment. They want to shoot the film in September. I have already committed those dates to some other producer, so it’s unlikely that I will do the film.”
The film is a thriller with Leonardo Dicaprio and Russell Crowe already signed on to play 2 of the leads. DiCaprio teams up with Crowe’s character, a CIA agent to trap an Al Queda leader. And Bachchan was to play a Jordanian character. Earlier when first talking about the film, Bachchan unbelievably said “Let’s be realistic … who will notice me when DiCaprio and Crowe are in the same film?”
Interestingly, Scott first met Bachchan at a Film Festival in Morocco where he offered him a role in Kingdom of Heaven. Unfortunately Bachchan was not able to sign on for that film either.
We would have loved to see these 3 fine actors in one film together and are sure that Big B would definitely get noticed, most likely with rave reviews!
