Directed by Abhinay Deo and starring Anil Kapoor, Divya Khossla and Harshvardhan Rane, the action thriller Savi hit the big screen on May 31st to the praise of audiences and great returns at the box office.
In fact, Savi has turned out to be a rare profitable affair at the box office. A mid-budget film made at a cost of 28.50 crores, it actually recovered its investment prior to theatrical release itself and whatever came from the box office turned out to be an added bonus.
At the Indian box office, the film has netted 13 crores after two weeks. It has also collected some moolah from the overseas and that has resulted in the worldwide gross standing at 17.81 crores. There is a bit more that will come in weeks to come which should take the overall gross to 19-20 crores.
Now if one looks at the cost of production, it’s 24 crores and then there is added 4.50 crores that was spent on P&A, hence bringing the total to 28.50 crores. From the returns perspective, the film has already sealed the deal for digital (18 crores), satellite (8 crores) and music (4 crores), hence resulting in a total of 30 crores, which gets it into a profit zone.
Divya Khossla has managed a success for herself and one now waits to see how she brings in the audiences again with her next film as an actress, Hero Heeroine.
