A coming-of-age romantic film, Kunal Kohli and Reliance Pictures’ Break Ke Baad, is now available on DVD and VCD, released by Reliance Home Video.
Break Ke Baad makes for perfect viewing this holiday season. Directed by debutante Danish Aslam, Break Ke Baad sees the fresh pairing of Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan for the first time. It also stars Sharmila Tagore, Lillete Dubey, Shahana Goswami Yudhishtr Urs and Naveen Nischol. The film breaks new ground as it explores the concept of the consequences of a break-up in a relationship.
Break Ke Baad is a story of two childhood friends, Abhay Gulati (Imran Khan) and Aaliya Khan (Deepika Padukone). Abhay and Aaliya have known each other since they were four years old & this friendship turns into love as they grow together. Aaliya’s life is defined by her burning desire to become an actress whereas Abhay is still unsure about what his true calling in life is. He finds that he has to constantly make place in his life for Aaliya’s incessant plans and projects to fulfill her dreams. While their relationship blooms because of their personality differences, the baggage of their differences also grows silently.
Things come to a head when they find themselves battling the pitfalls of a long term relationship. Aaliya breaks up with Abhay and he is forced to accept this decision as he secretly fears that he will lose her forever if he doesn’t relent. They take a break in their relationship, make mistakes, deal with disappointments, even lose each other – but become stronger in the process.
Break Ke Baad captures the various phases of growth in a relationship. In a fickle world where relationships break up on the smallest of differences, Abhay and Aaliya manage to save theirs.
Break Ke Baad garnered some very good critical acclaim with Rajeev Masand from CNN-IBN, calling it “an engaging film”. Aniruddha Guha from DNA wrote, “Break Ke Baad, a ‘rom-com’ that gets it right.”
Nikhat Kazmi from TOI said, “Nothing dramatic, just fresh: Break Ke Baad is the other flavour of romance. One that you don’t find in run-of-the mill Mills and Boon masala.”

Break Ke Baad is available on DVD (Rs.299) & VCD (Rs.149).
