Having won the Best Feature Film at the 62nd National Film Awards, the team of Court is naturally thrilled as they add yet another prestigious win to their increasing list of awards.
Directed by debutante Chaitanya Tamhane and produced by Vivek Gomber who also plays one of the lead characters, the film also marks the film debut of theater actress Geetanjali Kulkarni. Talking about her film winning the National award, the actress says, “Court has won so many prestigious awards internationally, but for all of us, a National award means far more. I am really proud to be associated with Court, not just because it has won as many as 18 awards, but also because I really feel that it’s an important film of this era. Something that every Indian can easily associate with as it talks about freedom, which is such an integral part of our being.”
Interestingly, the actress’ husband Atul Kulkarni is a two-time National award winner himself. She adds, “Yes, he is very thrilled too. We both are currently busy shooting, but hopefully we will celebrate soon,” smiles Geetanjali.
