Films on Rani Laxmibai have induced intriguing perspectives from appreciated film makers and producers. Actress Sushmita Sen has decided to turn director in her directorial debut on Rani Laxmibai’s life and times. She is reportedly in the works with the direction along with the research for the film. Meanwhile, director Kehtan Mehta pinned in Aishwarya Rai in his version of Laxmibai titled Rani of Jhansi. However, the films themselves have yet to his the floors—until now.
The latest buzz is that Deepika Padukone has grabbed the role of yet another Rani Laxmibai film co-produced by Firoz Nadiadwala and the information and broadcast ministry. The ministry has hired film maker Vinay Shukla to direct the film. In the movie, a backdrop of the revolt and a showcase of distinguished leaders such as Rani Laxmibai, Tatya Tope, and Nansaheb Peshwa will be featured.
A reliable source who is a part of the project informs, “Yes, Deepika Padukone has given her assent to the film. She is extremely thrilled about the historical role. However, she is yet to give her dates for the film.”
