Dhanush’s first international film ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ is all set to hit Indian screens. The English language comedy-adventure film directed by Ken Scott will release in India on June 21st, 2019.
The producers and distribution partners are very excited to present this unique film to Indian audiences after the success internationally. In fact, The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’ won the audience award for Best Comedy at the Barcelona Sant-Jordi International Film Festival.
Based on the book by Romain Puértolas, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Wardrobe.’ in the film, ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fakir’, Dhanush plays the character of a street magician and a trickster who tricks people into believing that he possesses special magic powers and tries to swindle them. It the film follows this Indian street magician’s journey to Paris. The film deals with the problems of immigrants across the world. Despite handling a rather sensitive and gloomy subject, the film is filled with light-hearted humour.
